Health Economics Job Market Analysis: September 2026

Pro Members of EuropeanHealthEconomics.com had access to 554 jobs posted in September 2026. The split across continents showed Amérique du Nord leading with 272 positions, followed by Europe with 191, Asie with 89, and Other regions with 28.

Top Countries in Europe

Within Europe, the Royaume-Uni remained the largest market with 56 jobs, ahead of Allemagne at 35 and Espagne at 33. Belgique et Suisse each posted 23 roles. Other European countries combined for 129 positions.

Companies Recruiting Health Economists

104 companies recruited health economists in September. Pharma dominated recruitment, followed by consulting firms and biotech companies. The top three recruiters by volume were AstraZeneca, Roche, and Lilly.

Role Seniority

Manageur level roles made up 45% of positions, with director roles at 40%. Consultant positions accounted for 7%, analyst roles for 3%, and internship opportunities for 5%.

Specialisms in Demand

Accès au marché appeared in 76% of roles, making it the most sought specialism. Value & Access featured in 66% of positions, and modelling in 65%. HEOR was required in 50% of roles, Données de vraie vie in 43%, Globale Gesundheit in 42%, and HTA et Dossiers de valeur each in 42%.

Education Requirements

Among jobs specifying education level, 59% required a Master’s degree and 41% required a PhD.
