Top Countries in Europe
Within Europe, the United Kingdom remained the largest market with 56 jobs, ahead of Germany at 35 and Spain at 33. Belgium and Switzerland each posted 23 roles. Other European countries combined for 129 positions.
Companies Recruiting Health Economists
104 companies recruited health economists in September. Pharma dominated recruitment, followed by consulting firms and biotech companies. The top three recruiters by volume were AstraZeneca, Roche, and Lilly.
Role Seniority
Manager level roles made up 45% of positions, with director roles at 40%. Consultant positions accounted for 7%, analyst roles for 3%, and internship opportunities for 5%.
Specialisms in Demand
Market Access appeared in 76% of roles, making it the most sought specialism. Value & Access featured in 66% of positions, and modelling in 65%. HEOR was required in 50% of roles, Real World Evidence in 43%, Global Health in 42%, and HTA and Value Dossiers each in 42%.
Education Requirements
Among jobs specifying education level, 59% required a Master’s degree and 41% required a PhD.
