The Market Access and Pricing Head is responsible for developing and executing market access strategies to ensure optimal pricing, reimbursement, and access for GSK’s diverse product portfolio, including oncology, asthma, vaccines, and specialty products in Saudi Arabia. This role involves working closely with government authorities, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders to navigate the regulatory landscape and achieve favourable outcomes for our products. The role also includes leading a team of three direct reports, including two Market Access Leads and one Pricing Governance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive market access strategies to ensure timely and optimal access to GSK products across various therapeutic areas, including oncology, asthma, vaccines, and specialty products in Saudi Arabia.
- Lead pricing strategies and negotiations with government bodies and other relevant stakeholders, with a primary focus on the Ministry of Health, National Guard, King Faisal Specialist Hospital, and other key institutions.
- Monitor and analyze healthcare policies, regulations, and market trends to identify opportunities and threats to market access.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, medical affairs, commercial, and Emerging Market Access Leaders, to align strategies and ensure cohesive execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including government officials, payers, and healthcare providers.
- Work with the HTA Manager under the medical department to prepare and submit reimbursement dossiers, health economic models, and other required documentation to support product access.
- Provide strategic input into product lifecycle management from a market access perspective.
- Develop an annual sponsorship plan for market access relevant events and identify opportunities for GSK leaders to participate as speakers or panelists.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards in all market access activities.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of market access professionals, including two Market Access Leads and one Pricing Governance Manager, providing guidance and development opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmacy, Medicine, Health Economics, Business).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in market access, pricing, or health economics within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with at least 3 years of experience in oncology.
- In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Arabian healthcare system, reimbursement processes, and regulatory environment.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful market access and pricing strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory information.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural team environment.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
