Role summary:

  • Lead the analysis, adaptation, creation, and distribution of top-tier Health Economic and Outcome Research (HEOR) to promptly achieve the best possible reimbursement and pricing for Pfizer products and/ or to enhance their labeling. This is part of an evolving system that increasingly incorporates Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and HEOR insights, underpinned by the development and application of clinical, economic, and humanistic evidence that underscores the value of Pfizer’s products.

Position purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to attain ideal reimbursement and pricing status and product uptake for Pfizer products through; The development of novel and innovative HTA/ HEOR strategies; The development and leveraging of clinical, economic, and humanistic evidence to demonstrate the value of Pfizer’s products; Engaging with external stakeholders as Payers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the interpretation, generation and dissemination of HEOR information and data for internal and external customers on defined business categories to demonstrate the value of Pfizer products related to emergent HTA processes and lead/support technical discussion with payers/decision makers regarding Pfizer portfolio.
  • Proactively research and become familiar with a broad range of HTA/ HEOR models and closely monitor latest HTA developments and intelligence in Japan to ensure optimal HTA submission for Pfizer’s HTA designated products.
  • Actively participate in the industry discussion through trade associates and interact with the government officials/ diet members for advocacy activities to ensure Pro-innovative HTA system in Japan.
  • Leads the customization of global and/ or development of local HTA/ HEOR materials/ models/ data, leveraging all available research (clinical studies, observational studies, literature, etc.) for HTA dossiers.
  • Identify the evidence needs for product/ indication in pricing strategy throughout the product life cycle, create and evolve value propositions as needed, and ensure that data is available to support those messages.
  • Work with cross-functional team members in the development and execution of market access plans, and medical or marketing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate goals, policies and procedures, and relevant legislation at all times.

Experience and Background

  • Master’s Degree in Health Economics or Public Health or related field (PhD is preferred)
  • Strong knowledge/ Experience in HTA/ HEOR, including Leading health economics and outcomes research, Publication in scientific or medical journals as an author, Implementing pharmacoeconomic models on a local basis, and Understanding HTA requirements, methods, and processes in Japan
  • Good understanding of the evolving external environment
  • Knowledge/ Experience implementing value messages and reimbursement processes
  • Fluent communication in Japanese and English in both writing and speaking
