Sr. Manager, Reimbursement and Value & Access

Reporting to the Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs, Reimbursement and Value Access, the Senior Manager, Reimbursement and Value Access role in Canada is responsible for developing and implementing reimbursement and pricing strategies for current and emerging products.  The role also includes managing health technology assessment (HTA) submissions across Ipsen’s product portfolio, in collaboration with the cross functional team. Establishing and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders at the national and provincial level for reimbursement and pricing is also a requirement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Evaluates reimbursement trends and manages market access strategies to optimize public and private access for Canadian patients.
  • Leads complete reimbursement process from submission preparation, initial listing and on-going maintenance, improvement and/or protection of product listing status on all major formularies, in line with brand value propositions.
  • Manages product pricing analyses, development of pricing strategies and submissions to Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB).
  • Develops innovative strategies for product listing agreements and leads the negotiation process with the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA).
  • Manages the development of appropriate pharmacoeconomic models.
  • Manages hospital group purchasing organization (GPO) tenders and contracts for assigned products.
  • Participates on multiple cross-functional brand team member and effectively collaborates with the teams to develop fully aligned reimbursement and value & access strategies, and supports successful execution of commercial strategies
  • Collaborates with Brand Teams as a core member to ensure timely two-way transparent information sharing, and optimal execution of commercial strategy from a value & access perspective.
  • Collaborates with Global Pricing & Market Access teams to ensure alignment with global strategies, policies and objectives.
  • Develops and implements tactical plans for achieving and maintaining optimal access, including generating real world data/evidence, for assigned products.
  • Report any potential adverse events/safety information or products complaints for Ipsen products to the Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance department, per company requirements

Knowledge, abilities and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Pharmacy or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 5+ years in a Market Access role, with experience in Rare Diseases preferred.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector and the complexities of the private and public market with experience working in multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Experience with Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions (e.g. INESSS and CADTH).
  • Experience with private payer reimbursement policies and practices in Canada.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation capabilities, including extensive expertise in contract negotiation and implementation.
  • Ability to effectively translate clinical evidence to a scientific value proposition to address unmet needs of the payer.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong project management capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability.
  • French speaking is an asset.
