Sr. Director and TA Head-Anti-Infective Respitory/US RWE & HO

To meet these needs, The Therapy Area (TA) Head- US, is responsible for the design and implementation of evidence generation activities in support of a GSK Therapy Area (TA) for the United States (US) business. It includes health outcomes leadership and execution for launch, post launch and life cycle management programs.  The TA Head leads a team of RWE-HO scientists and may also serve as an Asset Lead in their own right. The TA Head is responsible for the generation of compelling value evidence for decision-makers and to support reimbursement dossiers and market access in the US. Their remit includes both pipelines and marketed assets.

Locations: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Durham, North Carolina; Collegeville, Pennsylvania, US.

Key Responsibilities:

Evidence Generation

  • Lead and/or provide oversight for the development, management, design, implementation and delivery of US health outcome strategy and tactical plans for pipeline and marketed assets in a specific TA.
  • To maintain an awareness of the significant developments in US health care environment and how these developments impact US evidence generation
  • For pipeline assets, provide input to global RWE-HO and integrated asset plans, through appropriate forums, to ensure US needs are accommodated.
  • Ensure TA aligned RWE-HO projects meet quality standards and are tracked, monitored, reported and disclosed according to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure TA aligned RWE-HO projects are delivered to time and on budget.

Evidence Communication

  • Develop scientific communications i.e., presentations, manuscripts, registry summaries and data dissemination plans that include promotional pieces to communicate/disseminatehealth outcomes data with external stakeholders.
  • Leverage health outcomes data with Payers and Providers, through appropriate/approved mechanisms.
  • Train field staff on health outcomes data and promotional materials, as appropriate for organizational role.

Line Management

  • Lead, manage, recruit and develop RWE-HO scientists.
  • Manage RWE-HO resource planning, allocation among scientists within team to support projects based on the needs of your portfolio.
  • Drive best practice sharing across the team in support of strategy development and methodology.

Stakeholder management

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relations with key stakeholders in the US LOC and Global RWE-HO teams, in order to ensure strategic alignment and optimal cross-functional collaboration and communication
  • Ensure key stakeholders including TA aligned business leaders are regularly updated on RWE-HO plans through period reporting.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relations with external health outcomes experts/thought leaders, to ensure appropriate methods in health economics and quality of life research are applied, in accordance with GSK policies

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline i.e., health economics and/or outcomes research; health care policy; health services research; epidemiology etc.
  • 7+ years working in the US pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a multi-national company.
  • Experience with Health Outcomes research and application.
  • Pharma R&D, especially clinical trial planning and execution experience.
  • Experience with the US healthcare environment.
  • Reimbursement and market access solutions experience for product development and post-launch plans.
  • Experience with application of RWE-HO research at the product and therapy area levels.
  • Hands-in expertise of how health economic, health outcomes, comparative effectiveness research, PRO research and the use of PRO instruments can be applied at local decision-making levels, including support of clinical practice.
  • Experience with a variety of study designs (i.e. observational studies including prospective, cross-sectional and post-launch registries and maximizing data from prospective Phase IIB/IV studies).
  • Experience communicating technical and complex concepts and results to a variety of audiences that impact decision making.
  • Leadership and management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Degree i.e., Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
  • Direct payer experience and US business experience.
  • Strength in managing cross-matrix teams, with demonstrated experience in strategy development.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and build partnerships with US external experts.
  • Ability to communicate technical and complex concepts and results effectively to a variety of audiences to impact decision making.
