Value & Access Manager identifies national established relationships with influencers and decision makers to improve the overall business environment, identify policy trends in the marketplace, provide strategic guidance to the company on such trends an possible business response and facilitate market access for the entire Novartis portfolio.
This highly market-facing individual also integrates business strategy knowledge with forward looking analysis of environment (MoH, NHF, public policy makers, customers, stakeholders, patients, competitors). The role has a deep understanding of the Country political environment and healthcare structure and can understand the impact on business from different influencers and decision makers.
Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Owning, developing, and leading end-to-end reimbursement process, including negotiation process with all payer stakeholders.
•Understanding, describing and prioritizing most relevant (influential, accessible) market access stakeholders.
•Representing Novartis interest in Ministry of Health, HTA Agency, NHF – National Health Funds, Key Opinion Leaders and other governmental managers to meet commercial targets; understanding the specific needs of payers and reimbursement-related stakeholders and identify mutually beneficial partnering opportunities.
•Coordination of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and pharmaco-economy processes: establishing of optimal HTA approach to support reimbursement process; close and strong collaboration with cross-functional team.
•Establishing and implementing pricing and reimbursement strategies and tactics, including proposals of risk-sharing schemes in a strong cooperation with internal global or cluster authorities
•Effectively train members of marketing and sales team on the market access process to reinforce achievement of business goals as well as forming and leading cross-functional teams to build vision, strategy and market shaping for the products in pipeline
•Setting up and operational management of cost–sharing processes in hospitals – being leader of project as well as representing Novartis interests in Price & Reimbursement Group and other associations/ think tanks.
Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
•University degree (scientific, economics or business degree)
•Language skills: fluent English (speaking, writing, listening)
•At least 3-years working experience in pharmaceutical industry, health policy or other related in area of market access
•Extensive experience in political and/or legal environment as well as policy and/or communication
•Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate scientific, legal and economic topics
•Well-developed understanding of regulatory environment, including degree of market regulation centralization/regionalization (company-dependent), and local environments
•Significant understanding of product pricing & reimbursement processes, including processes for clinical guidelines and formularies
•Ability to manage relationships with a high number of external customers as well as ability to lead projects in cross-functional environment.
