As a Senior Manager and member of our Global HEOR team, your primary responsibility will be to execute on the tactical plan to generate evidence supporting the value proposition of Vertex’s CF portfolio of assets.  You will contribute to each stage of the development, launch and post-launch phases, including supporting prospective and site-based studies.  

This Senior Manager will report to the Director HEOR, CF. The role will be hybrid, based in Vertex’s Boston office in the Seaport District. 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Support execution of HEOR evidence generation studies, including prospective and retrospective observational studies, systematic literature reviews, clinical outcome assessment measure development and validation studies, cost-effective analyses, and budget impact models, as needed, to support the asset value
•    Design and conduct observational studies (protocol development, IRB/ethics requirements, methodology/statistical analysis plan, and study reports) in compliance with all internal governance processes including those related to protocol review, interactions with KOLs, reporting of safety data and publication
•    Apply robust scientific methods to study design and execution and in compliance with all local regulations; as a key member of the study team, be responsible for study design, data analysis and the quality of the evidence produced 
•    Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align on study design and conduct and support evidence communication activities 
•    Provide excellent project management, supporting study team and monitoring external vendors to ensure studies are delivered on time and within budget
•    Support the development of key HEOR pre-launch/launch deliverables (e.g., global value dossier)
•    Develop presentations to communicate complex HEOR evidence to cross-functional internal audiences
•    Clearly communicate study findings to internal and external audiences; lead conference submissions and peer-reviewed publications and ensure evidence is shared appropriately with key stakeholders

Qualifications:

•    An advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MPH, MS) with an educational focus in a relevant discipline in the areas of health economics or outcomes research
•    Typically requires 4+ years of combined consulting and or biopharmaceutical industry experience in health economics and outcomes research, or the equivalent combination of education and experience 
•    Technical expert in HEOR able to formulate and lead complex research projects ensuring that study conduct is technically and scientifically rigorous, reflects best HEOR practices and managed to timelines and budgets
•    Knowledge of conducting observational research studies; experience with conducting site-based or prospective real-world studies is preferred
•    Strong attention to detail and quality focus
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to effectively present technical data and complex concepts to diverse audiences
•    A track record of success functioning in dynamic, matrix environments with the ability to multi-task seamlessly, balance competing priorities, and communicate proactively with key stakeholders

Location: Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly)
