Head of Market Access

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Head Of Market Access KSA located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Head of Market Access KSA will be responsible to secure reimbursement and market access for our products, enabling them to be launched into the market in the shortest possible time and at the best possible price, and for their sales potential to be realised in the shortest period.

This is a key role within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine KSA and requires extensive interaction and collaboration with other key functional groups and teams across all business units. Functional groups include Commercial, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs and Business Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops comprehensive value strategies for reimbursement in KSA according to individual TA/product needs and requirements

  • Ensure reimbursement of all J&J IM products in all sectors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic key stakeholders including MOH, health funders; hospitals and key clinicians.
  • Ensure submission of value dossiers for new listings and participate in face to face negotiations with payers’ groups.
  • Oversee our Pricing strategy for our products to ensure access to patients.
  • Lead other access channels like patient engagement and PHI across KSA

Market access & Health Economics activities

  • Provision of evidence-based health economic evaluations, health outcomes research, preparation of reports and submissions, presentations, program materials, and customer proposals.
  • Develop Value and health economics strategies, formulating clinical arguments, collating clinical data to support introduction of new products.
  • Generate outcomes data to support reimbursement by collaborating with key clinicians and other stakeholders to develop high quality evidence.
  • Manage evidence-based pricing and reimbursement submissions for inclusion of main products in reimbursement lists
  • Participate and contribute in industry and stakeholder forums to shape healthcare policy towards value-based health technology assessment and evaluation of innovation to funding and reimbursement.
  • Lead Strategic Account managers to understand, shape and enhance patient journey in key accounts, health funds and MOH to guarantee sustainable access and optimized patient journey.

Representation of J&J IM to key opinion leaders

  • Participate in govt and industry committees and forums to shape healthcare policies and decision making
  • Develop strong network with the key clinicians, payers and representative bodies to demonstrate clear value of J&J IM products.
  • Develop close relationships with regulatory bodies e.g. MOH, EDA, SFDA, MSO and other government stakeholders with the view of communicating the added value of J&J IM products.

Consultant and Advisor to J&J IM KSA LT

  • Advises and contributes to decision making with respect to business planning, strategic planning, LRFP and pricing within J&J IM KSA
  • Ensures fair level of understanding of KSA LT of various reimbursement mechanisms, HCS updates and major impacts to KSA HC environment.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Percentage of Dynamic Champion and core products successfully reimbursed
  • Percentage of pricing and business case approvals for reimbursement and Patient Support Programs in KSA
  • Feedback from Leadership Team (LT) members and BUDs
  • Number of successful value dossier submissions for reimbursement
  • Number of successful Health Economics and affordability tools developed.
  • Number of products launched with a reimbursement strategy
  • Communication of knowledge and understanding of changing reimbursement environment and relevant players
  • Level of contribution to decision making with respect to business planning and strategic planning
  • Level of LT/CVT understanding of various reimbursement mechanisms

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Health Sciences, Economics or similar field is required; an advanced degree desirable (MBA, MS/MA in economics).
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 4 years in local/regional senior Market Access role.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Experience working within multinational companies specially in Emerging Markets with adhering high levels of compliance
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to structure and further develop a team of people, retain motivation and infuse spirit relevant to the company culture, vision and business strategy
  • Positive attitude to change if needed, ability to challenge “status quo”
  • Ability to handle complexity, diversity and changing environments.
  • Pragmatism, availability, diplomatic, listening and relationship skills
  • Ability to navigate and produce results in a global, matrix organization, strong cross-departmental support, interdisciplinary approach
  • Pro-active and goal-oriented thinking
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, business writing, presenting and listening)
  • Fluency in English, Native local speaker is a plus.
