Associate Director, Market Access

The Associate Director, Market Access, UK & Ireland will have extensive HTA experience across multiple disease areas and markets and be able to translate complex HTA strategy with ease across all levels of the organisation.
The Associate Director, Market Access, UK & Ireland will help develop, define and implement the market access strategy to create a positive access environment for Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ portfolio. This will include obtaining, maintaining and optimising market access for current and future assets.

Essential Job Functions:

Job Responsibilities: 

Provide market access leadership across all five nations of the UK & Ireland affiliate: 

  • Make decisions/recommendations which contribute to the development of the strategic direction of the function and/or broader department. Has oversight of new product planning to ensure optimal access for our pipeline indications
  • Consistently develop optimal lifecycle management strategies for market access of the existing portfolio through excellent product, competitor and health system analysis
  • Actively seek to understand updates and changes to NHS policy, funding, pathways and reimbursement processes; inform company strategies to make use of opportunities and anticipate/overcome hurdles; remain current and act as an expert on these trends for the UK & Ireland leadership team and EU/INT PRMA
  • Input into Jazz Pharma HTA submissions across UK & Ireland including comparator submissions and disease area guidelines.
  • Expert at navigating HTA submissions, responsible for developing team capabilities across all levels in collaboration with Head of Market Access, UK & Ireland
  • Help develop the market access capability of the wider UK & Ireland affiliate
  • Identify Real World Evidence and data collection opportunities in collaboration with EU/INT PRMA
  • Provide insight and market access expertise during brand strategy development and planning. Contribute to the development of the broader UK & Ireland strategy through the provision of market access insight and deep knowledge of routes to market
  • Be an active and contributory member of the Eur/Intl Jazz Market Access Team – sharing learnings and collaborating on market access excellence with colleagues from across Jazz’s affiliates and regions
  • Working in a matrix to anticipate market trends, opportunities and challenges to enable appropriate uptake and share of the Jazz product portfolio; devise competitor intelligence programmes to support brand strategies
  • Proactively support the Business Units to identify opportunities and remove barriers for  the prescribing of Jazz medicines and propose innovative solutions. Support BUDs with implementation of these strategies.
  • Demonstrate, foster and reinforce the Jazz culture within the UK & Ireland with a dedicated focus on High Performance Culture and Jazz Values

Relationship development: 

  • Identify and develop trust-based working relationships with relevant key stakeholders and national policy makers including NHS England, NICE, PASLU, MHRA, NHS Wales, AWMSG, NHS Scotland, SMC, HSE, NCPE, Dept of Health NI and HSCNI
  • Support the wider Jazz teams in their development of PAG processes
  • Build relationships within industry groups and become a contributing member to workstreams relevant to Jazz and our portfolio

Oversee market access processes for the current and future portfolio: 

  • Ensure all business is conducted in compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Be seen as a leading member of a high-performing team with departmental goals to ensure excellence in Market Access business planning and effective monitoring of performance through appropriate use of relevant analytics and metrics
  • Be an active and contributory member of the cross-functional UK and Ireland brand teams

Requirements: 

  • Documented track-record of multiple HTA submissions in UK and Ireland, across a range of disease areas, preferably with experience of representing company at committee
  • Deep understanding of UK/Ireland healthcare environment and context with demonstrated understanding of strategic priorities, national health policy, HTA systems and direction of travel
  • Knowledge of oncology, rare and orphan diseases and a track record of successfully delivering payer customer strategy and market access in these disease areas in the UK & Ireland
  • Demonstrable experience of launch excellence across multiple product launches
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral; gravitas and credibility are a must
  • Experience of working with an affiliate Leadership Team, delivering strategic advice, reports and presentations to an extremely high standard
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills (both internal and external) with proven capability in leading project teams across a matrix-structure with a shared vision and clear accountabilities, delegating where required
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; self-starter with strong personal management skills including time management, workload prioritisation, responsiveness, multi-tasking & flexibility
  • Role model team player attitude, respectful collaboration, seeking and celebrating diverse perspectives are a must
  • A growth mindset of consistently learning; giving and seeking feedback
  • Willingness to travel, mainly within UK & Ireland
