VP, Value & Access International Operations & Excellence

Ipsen is excited to announce a new opening on the International Operations Leadership Team as VP, International Value & Access Operations & Excellence. Here is bit of what you can expect from the opportunity:

  • Drive innovation in Value & Access strategies and execution of launches in International Markets.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Value & Access capabilities to support IPSEN’s rare disease, oncology and neurosciences portfolio and ensure best and class Value & Access organization.
  • With Value & Access leaders as well as public affairs define, lead and work with markets to implement payer, patients and health care system partnerships and policy initiatives to facilitate access to IPSEN’s life changing medicines.
  • As a member of the Value & Access Leadership Team lead the development, attraction and retention of high preforming team and creating a great place to work.
  • As a member of the International Operations Leadership Team, work with country presidents and Value & Access pricing business cases and be a critical member of the International regional team.

Main responsibilities / job expectations

Value & Access Capabilities & Development 

  • Drive development of Value & Access key competencies (soft and technical skills) as defined across the International Region at country level. e.g. negotiation, effective communication, strategic pricing, stakeholder mapping and engagement, health economics, value communications.

Value & Access Strategy & Execution

  • Value & Access representative in business reviews of International Region markets, providing expertise to market access related discussions, guidance and assessments to global and commercial team; channeling requests and support needs, track access performance and KPIs of in market products, closely collaborate with Global Access Leads and local market access organizations, support SVP Global Value & Access head in managing market access review board.
  • Leading and supporting access strategies pull through in markets.

Training and Development

  • Identify training needs and define plans to address those needs both at Regional and country level. Develop training programs for value & access that include disease specific and product specific modules in collaboration with other functions as necessary across all therapy areas.

Value & Access Excellence

  • Ensure excellence across field-based value and access teams, analogous to Commercial Excellence role, e.g. Commercial model, key account planning, CRM, KPIs, Support assessment of needs for further resourcing or allocation and current team capabilities audit to best serve the business current and evolving needs. Explore options to generate opportunities for career development across organization

Ethics & Compliance

  • Ensure that adequate HR and financial structures and controls are in place.
  • Comply with Company guidelines and country/industry standards on ethics and compliance.
  • Act as a role model displaying the Ipsen Ways of Being
  • Ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with all Ipsen SOPs, policies, directives and relevant national guidelines.

Knowledge, abilities & experience

  • Ideal:  both scientific and business degrees
  • Senior level, strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Graduate level qualification or equivalent, proven ability to work in a global matrixed organisation at a midsize company
  • At least 10 years in the field of Value & Access & Pricing
  • Fluent English is compulsory

Key Technical Compentancies Required

  • Technical knowledge of economic evaluations in Healthcare
  • Knowledge of international health care systems
  • Ability to develop Market Access strategy and Pricing strategy
  • Solid business background enabling the assessment competitive impact on payer strategies and the ability to challenge strategy and tactics
  • Ability to work under pressure, to take accountability for business challenges, think strategically and tackle complex problems
  • Executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to build coalitions and develop strong partnerships across functions
  • Strong analytical skills
