The Pricing Manager is responsible for leading the optimization and streamlining of the approval process of market access business cases in collaboration with the Market Access Managers, Finance Business Partner, and GPI. This role involves obtaining approval from the Global team and working closely with the Market Access Managers to develop local innovative reimbursement strategies and tools, enabling value-based agreements. As the primary point of contact for AstraZeneca Ireland with the Global Pricing and IVS teams, the Pricing Manager supports the Market Access Managers with their reimbursement dossiers and shares best practices.
Accountabilities
- Contributes to the cross-functional team in developing local price strategies for all products in respect of global price policies
- Works with the Market Access Managers on developing compelling business cases
- Optimizes and streamlines the approval process of market access business cases in internal price systems
- Leads the implementation of innovative value schemes (IVS) to achieve reimbursement enabling value-based agreements and sharing best practices
- Acts as the primary point of contact for Ireland with the Global IVS and pricing teams
- Triangulates information/data and provides business insights, with recommended actions and potential scenarios to cross-functional brand teams, early asset teams, and other key stakeholders
- Collaborates with Market Access Managers to provide support in developing reimbursement dossiers where required
- Manages and implements private insurance reimbursement applications and rebates, acting as the primary point of contact
- Supports the Market Access Managers in developing long-term (5 years) AZ and competitor launch assumptions and price forecasts to support business finance and cross-functional teams in the forecasting process
- Performs ad hoc analysis on pricing and reimbursement in Ireland for AZ and competitor products to support business decisions
- Delivers annual price realignment exercise to HSE
- Provides insights on changing government regulations and assists business finance in calculating the business impact
Essential Skills/Experience
- Relevant bachelor’s degree
- Understanding of the Irish healthcare market access landscape and evolution
- Ability to perform analysis using multiple quantitative and qualitative sources to translate data into actionable recommendations
- Minimum 3 years’ previous healthcare industry experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of pharma reimbursement and pricing regulations in Ireland
- Advanced Excel skills
- Languages: Proficient in English
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Relevant Master’s degree
- Knowledge of Health Economics
- Knowledge of the therapeutic areas in which AZ operates, competitor’s products, and the competitive environment
