Market Access Manager DACH (pre-launch)

Home-based, Germany.

Under the supervision of the Market Access New Products Lead DACH, the role objectives are to support, coordinate and execute the market access pre-launch activities for Sobi’s pipeline and launch products in the DACH region.

The overarching goal of the Patient Access function to ensure early and unconditional access for patients to our products is strongly connected with the purpose and the responsibilities of this role and the respective team. Creating innovative market access strategies and value-reflecting pricing strategies by considering current applicable regulations and the expectations of the health authorities is a high-impact responsibility within Sobi and directly contributing to the future success of the company in the DACH region.

The focus and also the mid-term perspective of this role is dedicated to currently ongoing and future AMNOG activities for the Sobi portfolio.

The candidate is closely working with the other parts of the local Patient Access function, the local cross-functional launch and product teams as well as the Global Patient Access organization to prepare and implement strategies and to support the development of pricing and reimbursement dossiers.

This is a hybrid role – candidates can be located anywhere in Germany but should be able to come into the office in Martinsried on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities/Scope of the Job

  • Under the supervision of the Market Access New Products Lead DACH support, coordinate and execute the pre-launch market access activities for Sobi’s pipeline and launch products in the DACH region with a focus on pricing and reimbursement dossier development and guiding the benefit assessment process. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Development of AMNOG and EU-HTA dossier strategy in close collaboration with the Market Access New Products Lead DACH
    • Prepare AMNOG dossiers including analysis and discussion of clinical trial results and their methodology
    • Coordinate cross-functional workstream team and ensure preparation of appropriate AMNOG dossiers which can include coordination of biostatisticians or external agencies
    • Support preparation of (early) G-BA consultations as required
    • Support timely submission and best possible preparation and positioning for written statement and oral hearing processes with G-BA during early benefit assessment process
    • KOL engagement to support dossier strategy development, dossier preparation process and KOL support during oral hearing
    • Engage with global team regarding EU-HTA dossier preparation to reflect Germany specific requiremente
  • Working in a cross-functional team with different functions across Sobi (e.g. medical, marketing, finance) to support and develop market access projects in terms of Sobi’s products
  • Under the supervision of the Market Access New Products Lead DACH support the pre-launch market access activities for Sobi’s pipeline and launch products in the DACH region with a focus on pricing and reimbursement. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Develop pricing and reimbursement strategy for pipeline and early launch products by analysing pricing landscape, AMNOG environment and conduct horizon scanning
    • Prepare and participate in price negotiations with local payers including AMNOG negotiations with GKV-SV and associated process (e.g. AMNOG arbitration board, roll-out plan for negotiated price)
    • Analyze product and pricing environment, available product data for Sobi and competitor products (e.g. AMNOG-Monitoring)
    • Identify and analyze reimbursement hurdles for Sobi products and develop counter strategies (e.g. NUB strategy, regional market access strategy)
  • Propose, coordinate and lead appropriate HEOR or RWE projects to inform pricing strategy, support dossier strategy or value proposition of the products in collaboration with Global  patient access or other departments

Update regularly local and global cross functional teams on environment changes and potential consequences, proposed strategies and on going activities related to market access responsibilities in the region

Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience/Work Experience

Required:  

  • University degree (health) economics, pharmaceutical, health care management, natural science (biochemistry, biology…) or similar
  • At least 1 to 2 years of biotech/pharmaceutical/consulting experience in a reimbursement/market access related role (the less experienced the more important is a PhD or additional trainings in the respective area)
  • Experiences in medical writing, ideally in the market access area

Desired:  

  • Experiences in clinical data design and interpretation, HTA, epidemiology and statistics

Skills/Knowledge/Languages

Required:  

  • Deep knowledge of the market access environment and health care system in Germany, specifically AMNOG regulation and reimbursement pathways
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams under time pressure and with senior management attention
  • Very good communication skills (oral and writing) in both German and English and experienced in communicating complex information to target groups or local and Global management
  • Good to very good skills in Microsoft office, especially Excel and Powerpoint, and presentations
  • Rigorous, organised and respecting timelines and deadlines along with flexibility in changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and project/team management skills, innovative thinking and problem solving skills

Desired: 

  • Advanced biostatistical understanding and experience would be a bonus
  • Seeking continuous improvement
  • Knowledge in EU-HTA
