Access Lead

Vienna, Austria.

We are looking for an Access Lead Austria who has a passion for patient health outcomes, with a drive to create innovative solutions, to come join our fantastic Alps Benelux Nordic (ABN) Access, Pricing and external Engagement (APEX) Team to be based in Austria.

About the role

As Access Lead Austria you will reinforce the local team to grant access for patients to new and established assets and ensure maintenance of optimal conditions of price and reimbursement for products already listed. To meet this goal, you have a holistic understanding of the Austrian healthcare system and the implications for a specific asset / indication, build adequate pricing & reimbursement strategies, prepare and present robust value story decks to payers (inc. business cases). In partnership with internal stakeholders and thanks to a strong External Engagement you will be able to identify risks and opportunities and propose innovative solutions.

Who you will work with

In this role you will work in partnership with medical / commercial / regulatory / supply / market access teams on local, Alps / ABN- level and with market access / pricing teams on regional and global level to have all aligned information/approvals needed for reimbursement or pricing strategies. Next to this you will also partner with local cross functional teams and contribute with External Engagement initiatives that can help generate access to our medicines and value for patients.

What will you do

  • Ensure local market access by developing strong strategies that integrate UCB guidance & objectives, scientific data, local ecosystem & regulations, risks and opportunities & provide recommendations
  • Generate and compile evidence for an asset / indication
  • Coordinate with internal teams (such as medical, commercial, supply, finance, legal, and regulatory) to ensure smooth execution of market access plans and business planning
  • Create an dynamic external engagement with payers, when possible access decision makers, sickfunds (mapping, meetings, tools development). Secure insight from KOLs, patients’ associations, registries on current clinical practices to understand positioning of UCB solutions
  • Preparation and participation to negotiations on reimbursement & price with payers and key accounts.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Working preferably market access, and have the ability to adapt in country the global strategy: external engagement & field insights collection, development of value dossiers /presentations to payers & negotiations. Ability to develop early access and individual access programs would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills (German & English), ability to articulate information in a clear, inspirational manner
  • University background in Health/Life Science, with as a plus a background in Health Economics
  • Ability to understand complex scientific & economic data, convert them into a strong local value story. Bring an innovative, positive and agile approach to new access & pricing solutions
  • Knowledge of the Austrian health care environment / reimbursement system is mandatory
  • Cross-functional team player able to build up a network with all relevant stakeholders
