Market Access Manager

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Market Access Manager located in Lagoas Park, Lisbon, Portugal.

Role Summary:

  • Elaborates the local access strategy plan and implements it:
    • Prepare all the documents vital for the local submission for reimbursement and funding
    • Supervise and follow of the evaluation of the process within Health Authorities,
    • Anticipate questions and elements requests and prepare answers upfront
  • Ensure local teams are well informed and educated:
    • Liaison with regional and Global Market Access and Pricing Teams
    • Develops strategic projects with the access mindset to ensure that the results will favorably impact pricing/reimbursement/market access.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and implements a coordinated approach to all aspects of the payer value proposition from early development through and beyond loss of exclusivity.
  • Elaborates the local access strategy & plan and prepare all the documents vital for the local submission for reimbursement and funding.
  • Supervise and monitor the evaluation of the process within Health Authorities, anticipate questions and elements requests and prepare answers upfront.
  • Communicates the outstanding attributes of the therapeutic area drugs/medical devices to external multi-stakeholders to ensure the drug’s/device’s value proposition will be recognized and improve market uptake.
  • Works collectively with payers, including HTA, reimbursement influencers and other decision makers to ensure the continuous changing reimbursement systems remain fair to all involved parties.
  • Develops strategic studies with the end-customer in mind to ensure that the results will favorably impact pricing, reimbursement and market access as well as market uptake.
  • Conducts quantitative, qualitative pricing research and Burden of disease studies.
  • Actively work on the publications’ potential on publications and/or congresses.
  • Work very closely with the Core Value Team and Account Management on the product value.
  • Works with Health Economics/Outcomes Research to craft pricing strategy.
  • Develops solutions to sophisticated problems which require the regular use of resourcefulness, innovation and out of the box solution. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
  • Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in Health Economics/Market Access (preferably > 3 years)
  • Experience with HTA Authorities
  • Market knowledge
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams & navigate complex settings that involve multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and/or run projects with external stakeholders
  • Analytical capability
  • Autonomy and ability to decide
  • Advance Communication & Persuasive (Negotiation) skills
  • English proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel percentage – 10% national or international
