Senior Analyst, Health Economics & Reimbursement

Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Analyst, Health Economics & Reimbursement professional. This individual contributor will support the development and implementation of market access and reimbursement tactical plans for new and existing products.  This team member will be highly experienced and knowledgeable in activating department strategy through creation and maintenance of tools and resources, education and training on reimbursement principles, and building relationships both internally and externally with co-workers, physicians and health economic opinion leaders.

What You’ll Work On

  • Inform and shape opinion regarding the value of company products within the health community.
  • Manage deliverables such as reimbursement dossiers, tools/resources, reimbursement landscape analyses, consultant driven research projects.
  • Proactively monitor external environment, customers and competitors to identify opportunities for protecting and improving value capture.
  • Optimize payer value proposition and pricing policy.
  • Participates in regular, internal platform meetings to influence and provide recommendations.
  • Supports development of internal/external coding/coverage/reimbursement strategies, education, tools and support.
  • May manage projects with outside vendors.
  • Communicates with HE&R management and other departments necessary in order to facilitate achievement of reimbursement and market access objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred (MHA, MBA, MS, PhD, PharmD and JD).
  • Certified Professional Medical Coder (CPC) and Biller (CPB).
  • Understanding of reimbursement and payment models for major OUS countries, especially Europe, Japan, China, and India.
  • Relevant experience in medical devices reimbursement, with specific experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management therapies
  • 4-6 years of progressively advancing work experience in the following categories: Service line administration, or C-suite experience in hospital, physician practice and/or payer setting; or prior industry reimbursement and health care economics experience; or advanced degree in relevant area with less than 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. public and commercial payer models, reimbursement concepts (e.g., coverage, coding, and payment).
  • Strong knowledge base re: international health systems and payment schemes.
  • Experience in health policy, health economics, medical device reimbursement, technology assessment, or health care research.
  • Understanding of medical / clinical research methods and publication interpretation and ability to use evidence to support value proposition.
  • Strategic thinker with experience implementing programs outside of direct reporting relationships.
  • Experience in collaboration working across a matrix organization with various stakeholders.
  • Communication, and ability to distill complex information into concise, impactful communications to both internal and external customers/stakeholders.
  • Action oriented, comfort with ambiguity, business acumen, and organizational and strategic agility.
  • Problem solving of highly complex issues, which requires critical assessment of potential impact on multiple interested parties.
  • Comfort with working independently and anticipating needs / projects before they formally arise.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
