Vertex is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join its Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) group in Boston, MA to work on Vertex’s Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) cell therapy program.

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Manager is to execute strategic plans that optimize the supporting evidence and value proposition of Vertex’s T1D pipeline assets through each stage of the development, launch and post-launch phases.

This position reports to the Pipeline Cell & Gene Therapy HEOR Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development, updating and execution of the strategic HEOR plan and value communication of Vertex’s T1D pipeline assets
  • Execute on the HEOR plan by designing, developing, and completing HEOR led studies that support T1D commercialization strategies and demonstrate value to key stakeholders
  • Execute across a rage of study types including literature reviews, database studies, registry studies and survey studies
  • Follow best practices for HEOR data collection, analysis, modeling, dissemination and publication; ensure high quality in data collection and analysis
  • Effectively communicate findings internally and externally

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MPH, MS) and an educational focus in a relevant discipline in the areas of health economics or outcomes research
  • Typically requires 6 years of combined consulting and or biopharmaceutical industry in health economics and outcomes research, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A strong track record of publishing in peer reviewed scientific journals and presenting at scientific meetings
  • A track record of success functioning in dynamic, matrix environments with the ability to multitask seamlessly
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focused
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to effectively present technical data and complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Prior experience in cell and gene therapies and or diabetes therapeutic area preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of epidemiology, clinical outcome assessment (COAs), reimbursement and pricing environment, economic modeling, clinical development and commercial activities desired
