Associate Director, US Market Access

The Associate Director, US Market Access Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) will support the Director, US Market Access BD&L to develop US market access assumptions for Business Development & Licensing deals. This role works cross functionally with multiple US and International functions, including the following:

• Other Market Access teams (e.g., Strategic Pricing & Contracting)
• Other teams within the broader US Market Access Portfolio Strategy organization
• Public Policy
• The Product organization
• The Global Strategy & Capabilities, Global Strategy & Growth, and relevant Global Therapeutic Area organizations

Ultimately, this the AD, US Market Access BD&L person will work with the Director, US Market Access BD&L to ensure that the organization has a coherent, well supported view of US market access evolution and how it may affect BD&L opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Working cross-functionally with multiple US functions, including US and Global BD&L, US Commercial, Global Patient Access, Global New Products, Finance, and Patient Access & Health Policy (PA&HP) as appropriate to provide US pricing and access assumptions for all BD&L activities
• As necessary, inform market access go-to-market strategies to help cross-functional teams understand what needs to be believed for a deal case to be realized
• Leveraging relationships across the matrix to ensure all assumptions are well-supported, with multiple perspectives considered before aligning on a proposal
• Working collaboratively with pricing and contracting group to identify internal analogs to help inform assumptions
• Anticipating impact of environmental factors (legislative, economic, clinical, advocacy) on market access assumptions and highlighting those assumptions for clarity
• Engaging and managing necessary data purchases and primary and secondary market research to help inform assumptions

This is a US based position. No international relocation will be provided for this position.

This position will be located at the East Hanover site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).
Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, Healthy Policy or equivalent preferred

Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical experience in Market Access or Finance
• Solid analytical background with an interest in market opportunity assessments and forecasting
• Ability to recognize complex relationships and market dynamics and to synthesize simplified, direct and effective communications
• Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills combined with an ability to successfully collaborate across a matrix organization
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to implement programs that deliver improved business results in a timely manner combined with ability to adapt to changes within the internal and external environment
