Associate Director, Market Access Insights & Analytics

The Associate Director in Commercial Excellence (CE) will be a trusted advisor to Janssen’s Market Access Pricing and marketing team in the Strategic Customer Group (SCG). They will lead a team of individuals who generate and translate payer & provider insights and analytics into growth opportunities and tactics that craft decisions and drive organizational action across US inline and future launch assets.

This position will serve to support the enablement of existing MA analytics tools, syndicated and secondary resources while informing new capabilities to drive enhanced bid and contract decision making. They will actively monitor payer, IDN, policy, competitor and market conditions to inform critical decisions and shape internal strategies.

Duties:

  • Generate insights to advise US market access readiness launches including evaluating in-market analogs, launch pricing, payer/PBM utilization management, HCP/hospital economics (e.g. white, brown bagging, buy-bill, etc.) and other related landscape activities.
  • Support pricing teams with RFP Bid (commercial and govt contract) support, pre and post contract evaluations in compliment with contract data teams. This may include analog assessments, volume and geographic considerations, utilization management trends, customer and competitor intelligence gathering.
  • Shape the integration of data and analytics to inform inline brand access challenges, policy impacts and related work. Identify optimal analytic approaches including critical supplier partners. Manage resources, timing, and overall project goals efficiently.
  • Generate innovative approaches to market access pull through including translating contract wins, underperforming opportunities, and market event targeted initiatives; monitor and measure success of these approaches
  • Inform brand Market Access Readiness Reviews (MARR) including conducting customer market research; leverage syndicated and desk research to inform critical customer, competitor trends
  • Serve as an advocate in integrating MA insights sourced across Janssen teams – SCG, Brand and CE; develop strong partnerships with brand analytics teams in support of common brand access goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills And Experiences:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated success as a strategic advisor to business leaders as well as shaping and influencing without authority
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity; strong learning agility and demonstrated success solving ambiguous business issues
  • Ability to package existing disparate data and takeaways to develop new insights
  • Experience working with Rx, patient claims, pricing (WAC) and managed markets data sources (e.g. IQVIA, SHS, MMIT, Clarivate, Analysource, SSR)
  • Previous work external vendors to conduct market research
  • Storytelling, data visualization and developing effective presentations
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Tableau

Preferred Skills And Experience:

  • Experience with immunology and neuroscience disease areas
  • Proven success in people management; leading and developing others
  • In-depth knowledge of market access dynamics (e.g. payers, IDNs, specialty pharmacy, patient access, trade distribution)
  • Prior experience working in managed markets or with a health insurer or health system a plus
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts (test/control, model selection and hypothesis testing, statistical inference, promotional response modeling etc.)

This position is based in Titusville, NJ (or Horsham, PA). May require up to 10% domestic travel.
