Manager, Market Access

Home-based, Canada.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contributes to the development and delivery of submission documents to health technology assessment agencies (i.e. CDR, INESSS) and provincial drug and private plans aligned to the payer value proposition.  
  • Contribute to departmental NBD through the identification of leads and contacts at industry conferences. Will also actively lead and/or contribute to the development of new project proposals and/or more comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFPs) – i.e., development of budgets, timelines, service offerings, capabilities (i.e., case studies).
  • Support client needs in payer regulatory requirements, annual reporting requirements, and submissions. 
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of all services, supporting goals for business unit growth.  
  • Design and implements health outcomes and/or economic studies – from study concept stage to final report, including burden of illness studies, patient-reported outcomes studies, drug utilization reviews, prospective or retrospective observational epidemiologic or health resource utilization studies and database analyses 
  • Manage client accounts and monthly revenue billing. 
  • Participate in project team meetings and collaborate with fellow team members to efficiently complete engagements within allotted number of hours by given timeline.   
  • Lead project teams in a client manager role for Consulting, serving as the primary client interface in meeting and exceeding client expectations. 
  • Lead and/or works collaboratively and pro-actively across multiple ABSC programs to identify, generate and gain closure on new consulting opportunities. 
  • Support project and client needs with business travel, as needed (5% to 10%). 
  • EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate degree in business and/or life science
  • Master’s degree (in Health Economics, Pharmacy Administration, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health Policy or Business Administration) is preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of practical experience. Experience in specialty products, orphan and ultra-orphan diseases, and oncology is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, notably in the area of market access and reimbursement

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business and/or life science 
  • Master’s degree (in Health Economics, Pharmacy Administration, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health Policy or Business Administration) is preferred.

  Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

  • Structured and well organized with excellent work ethic (i.e., ability to consistently meet deadlines); attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated project management expertise. Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain high quality work output in a high paced dynamic environment while working on multiple projects 
  • Functions well in a team atmosphere – i.e., demonstrated experience with client and team management 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills 
  • Demonstrated adaptability and agility 
  • Broad technical knowledge of HTA, outcomes research and health economics 
  • Retrospective research experience as well as a sound understanding of large database management and analysis 
  • Descriptive and inferential statistical and analytical skills 
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Pharmaceutical industry including market access, pricing and reimbursement. Good understanding of key stakeholders in the Canadian reimbursement environment (e.g., public, private, HTA). 
  • Ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner 
  • Ability to network and partner with important external customers, including pharmaceutical companies, medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors and pharmacy directors 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and associated software
