- Ensure compliance with all Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease governance frameworks and policies. Explore new developments and legislative changes; communicate findings and implications to relevant teams/colleagues that could be affected and help brand teams develop appropriate responses and incorporate legislative and regulatory changes into their brand strategies.
- Work in collaboration with BU/KAM teams to understand access/funding barriers and provide strategy and support to achieve access and/or remove and mitigate access blocks.
- Develop and deliver MA strategic plans for brands, including pricing and access strategy: ensure all documentation and evidence of reimbursement dossier is properly prepared to maximize the likelihood of success.
- Participate in strategy, planning, and hands-on execution of globally and regionally aligned local external policy engagement communications to support Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease’s portfolio and reputation.
- Develop local country materials/adapt global materials (e.g., talking points, Q&As, fact sheets, etc.) and manage the internal review process.
- Contribute to policy positions and government affairs strategies aimed at delivering a favorable business environment and maximizing patient access.
- Engage with government officials, politicians, payers, trade associations, NGOs, think tanks, and other stakeholders on policy issues and reimbursement discussions.
- Conduct briefings, meetings, forums, and technical updates for legislators and regulators and their staff on issues of concern to Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease.
- Build coalitions to deliver multi-stakeholder public affairs campaigns.
Key Performance Areas:
- Delivery on Market Access
- Effective delivery of commercial input to the market access process and team.
- Interpretation of available evidence to support market access for Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease brands.
- Identify evidence gaps that may inhibit market access and develop plans to fill the gaps.
- Commercial Input to New Product Planning
- Conducts market/customer segmentation and identifies the emotional and rational drivers for each customer segment to develop value-added and compelling solutions or offerings.
- Plan integrated cross-functional timelines, balancing the needs of quality and expediency across the business and build deliverability into launch plans.
- Cross-Functional Project Management
- Manages/contributes to cross-functional projects optimally to achieve brand objectives.
- Identifies and manages key interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery according to agreed timelines.
- Influencing Stakeholders
- Identifies key stakeholders, both internal and external, and builds relationships with them.
- Effectively interprets all existing and new market research to gain a good understanding of stakeholders’ needs.
- Effectively facilitates key meetings and issues.
- Engages national/regional/local stakeholders through appropriate processes to secure access, funding for products, and shape policies.
- Maintained Administrative Systems
Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in Market Access and Government Relations (min 3 years)
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Advanced in English (speaking, writing) and communication skills
- Advanced in presentation skills and analytical thinking
- Cross-functional and project management skills
- Knowledge of the local policy landscape
- Strong relationships with national stakeholders
