Remote, Europe.

A non-governmental organisation is seeking an experienced health economist to undertake a part-time freelance project to design and conduct a cost-benefit analysis of assisted dying for terminally ill patients. This work will be used to inform healthcare policy discussions on the topic. This is a part-time role with an estimated duration of 2–3 months.

Key Responsibilities:

You will design and conduct the cost-benefit analysis. This includes a brief review of existing health economics studies on assisted dying (AD) for terminally ill patients, an estimation of the frequency of AD cases, and an analysis of healthcare provider costs and potential savings. You will summarize the main findings and offer evidence-based insights to inform policy discussions.

Your strong stakeholder engagement skills allow you to confidently advise on suitable methodologies and approaches for the study. You have excellent analytical skills, enabling you to synthesise complex research into actionable insights for policymakers.

While the role is remote, you must have the flexibility to travel within Europe for onsite meetings and hold a European passport or valid work permit.
