Market Access Research Science at PHMR
The Market Access Research Science team has a diverse range of backgrounds, including clinical trial specialists, laboratory scientists (from both academia and industry), teachers, and health economics and outcomes researchers. We share the ability to analyse and present complex scientific information in an accessible way and have excellent scientific communication skills.
As a Health Economist within the Market Access Research Science team at PHMR, you will be responsible for applying your health economics, market access and health technology assessment (HTA) expertise to support projects covering a wide range of therapeutic areas. Typical duties will include:
- Conducting a range of health economic studies, including:
Key point of contact for clients, successfully project managing and delivering projects to expected quality, timelines, and budget (Senior position).
Study design development and implementation across a variety of therapeutic areas
Drafting reports, presentations and contributing to HTA submissions
Contribute to a range of market access research projects as required
Collaboratively working with colleagues and subject matter experts to deliver content
Actively disseminate own work and the work of the project team to the medical and scientific community (peer-reviewed publications and abstracts to leading conferences)
Resource and workload management to meet internal and client-driven deadlines
Mentoring and training junior staff
Production of proposals in response to client requests
o Submissions to HTA agencies
o Development of evidence generation strategies to support market access
o Development of value dossiers and messages
o Primary research with key opinion leaders
o Analyses of HTA policy
o Literature reviews
Requirements / performance dimensions:
Functional technical expertise:
Higher degree (PhD or MSc) in health economics, health technology assessment (HTA) or market access, or related discipline
A minimum 4+ years of experience in similar role within pharmaceutical industry or consultancy (for Senior position)
Practical experience of conducting specified health economic studies and HEOR strategies to support value proposition development for various markets (for Senior position)
Experience of reviewing and analysing clinical and health economic data across a variety of therapeutic areas
A good understanding of the global payer environment, including coverage and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, and formulary management
Comprehensive knowledge of HTA methodology and processes
Experience of managing projects, including budgets and resource requirements (for Senior position)
Good business sense and strong analytical skills
Ability to think critically to challenge input and offer creative solutions
Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams by applying communication and interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills and ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
A can-do approach to all tasks and commitment to delivering timely high-quality results
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a high standard of written work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in written and verbal English
Excellent MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel skills
Experience of consultancy environment
Experience in a client-facing role (for Senior position)
Experience of line-management and/or mentoring (for Senior position)
