Market Access Director

Bucharest, Romania.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team. As the Market Access Director, you will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining access to our innovative medicines and ensuring continuous availability of products in the distribution chain in Romania. Your main objective will be to develop and implement a cohesive access strategy throughout the lifecycle of our innovations, ensuring optimal conditions and a competitive evaluation of value. This role works closely with the government affairs team to implement a comprehensive strategy that secures access to innovative medicines for patients. As a member of the Romanian Leadership team, you will lead the HEMAR and Key Account Management (KAM) teams and co-lead our External and Strategic Affairs Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HEMAR & KAM department in the development and implementation of the market access strategic and operational plans, delivering the agreed objectives and developing the team.
  • Develop value propositions based on mutual interests and drive close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, aiming to improve patient access to innovative treatments and promote a value-based Romanian healthcare system.
  • Set compelling vision and inspire teams to drive strategic alignment and excellence in execution, to successfully deliver our performance objectives.
  • Focus on attracting, developing and retaining talent in the Market Access team and the wider organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with external and internal stakeholders to drive local  alignment and strong implementation of strategic priorities.
  • Bring significant and constructive contributions to the Romanian Leadership Team; act as leader of the entire organization.
  • Role model compliant competitiveness, in line with Our Credo principles, HCBI, Regulatory and PV rules. Manage risk, conducting business activities in compliance with ethical and legal requirements.
  • Secure the positioning of Johnson & Johnson as a medical innovator across Janssen portfolio and work closely with cross functional partners to ensure appropriate strategies and tactics are in place to achieve this.
  • Be a change agent during necessary transformation.
  • Embrace and live the J&J Leadership imperatives.

Qualifications

Education:

  • University degree or equivalent (business / life sciences)

Experience and Skills:
Required: 

  • Successful track record in senior leadership role(s). Meaningful experience leading senior team(s).
  • Working knowledge of multiple therapeutic areas, oncology / hematology / immunology especially would be an asset.
  • Ability to navigate and produce results in a global, matrix organization, strong cross-departmental support, interdisciplinary approach.
  • People manager, passionate about recruiting and developing the best talents for the organization.
  • Team leader with good interpersonal skills, ability to influence and interact effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Exemplary leadership skills combined with strategic vision and a passion for achieving results.
  • Recognizing internal and external market complexity and acts with courage promoting compliance to drive business.
  • Growth mindset and ability to challenge status-quo.
  • Deep knowledge about the coaching process and the ability to offer personalized coaching.
  • Good knowledge of the Romanian healthcare system and relevant legislation.

  • 50% travel percentage – national and / or international
