This is an exciting and new role for a Health Economist to join our
new World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on investment in
Health and Well-being in Public Health Wales. You will build the
economic and social argument to support health investment and evaluate
economic and social return on investment within Public Health Wales and
with our partners across the UK and internationally. Drawing on an
extensive knowledge of health economic methodologies and experience in
applying these to population health systems, you will be working with
others to generate and apply evidence to influence a wide range of
audiences in order to improve population health.
The successful post holder will join a strong team focusing on policy
and international issues and will also work with colleagues across
Public Health Wales developing research and evaluation programmes. You
should be a driven individual with strong technical and advocacy skills,
capable of independent and team work including developing and leading
others through health economics approaches. You will be expected to
contribute to the training and development and providing specialist
expertise to teams across Public Health Wales, in our WHO partners and
with other stakeholders in other organisations including Welsh
Government and academia.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential for this
post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
