We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Health Economist/Associate Director to join our EMEA Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) team based in the UK. This above country role will manage EMEA HEOR deliverables for an assigned Therapeutic Area (TA) or cluster of Affiliates.
Activities include cost effectiveness and comparative effectiveness analyses, real world evidence generation, patient reported outcomes, epidemiological initiatives, development of core value dossiers, and HTA/Reimbursement strategies for in-line and development compounds.
This position requires strong interpersonal and matrix team working for managing projects and vendors to support our growing portfolio and pipeline
Purpose & Scope of the role:
This role is accountable for the delivery and management of EMEA HEOR activities some of which are described below:
•Develop/lead HEOR projects that are innovative, relevant and scientifically valid for the affiliates
•Effectively lead collaborations with internal stakeholders by understanding medical needs and developing/implementing strategies that addresses the needs
•Collaborate with external stakeholders and HEOR experts to ensure our sponsored HEOR initiatives are clinically relevant, support the needs of patients, health care providers and payers
•Maintain knowledge of regional HTA requirements and design HEOR/Value strategies accordingly; ensuring inclusion in Core Medical, Regional and Clinical Development Plans
•Support EMEA HEOR business objectives and budgetary plans with a 3-5 year perspective through HEOR evidence generation, synthesis, dissemination, communication and refinement
•Identify, design, develop, and manage EMEA HEOR projects including leading strategies for prospective and retrospective protocol development, economic models, scientific publications, and vendor supplied research proposals in assigned therapeutic area for both in-line and development products
•Support and participate in the forum for HEOR global alignment and best practice sharing; and the creation of a global repository with a library of tools and instruments for HEOR research execution
•Represent Astellas at external HEOR conferences and meetings
Requirements for the role:
•Post-graduate degree in Health Economics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Medicine or Epidemiology
•Strong experience in HEOR preferably from within the pharmaceutical industry
•An understanding of European HTA, reimbursement systems and HEOR alongside a working knowledge of Market Access
•Able to leverage outcomes data in the appropriate clinical context and work cross functionally
•Possess excellent written and verbal communication, be fully fluent in English, with the ability to present evidence effectively
•Demonstrate strategic thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
•Approximately 20% travel required
