Position Overview:

This role, reporting to the Director and Global Head of Value and Access for people living with type 2 diabetes (PLWT2D), has primary responsibility for driving the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) activities performed within the remit of the Global Value and Access Team at Insulet across the entire portfolio of Insulet solutions and indications/disease states.

This role will be responsible, in close collaboration and consultation with the global value and access leaders of the different franchises and other members of the Insulet access community, for collaboratively leading the insights-driven development and update of a diverse suite of economic models for each of the current and future Insulet solutions/target indications, as part of a set of global access-supporting deliverables developed for each of these assets.  In line with this, the incumbent will – among others – be responsible for driving the (early) health economic modeling in support of the development of strategic recommendations to maximize the payer value and global access potential of the new, innovative solutions (Insulin delivery and/or data solutions) currently in conceptualization and/or (early) development by Insulet across its different franchises.

This role will also be responsible for driving HEOR activities supporting the demonstration of the payer value proposition of Insulet solutions in the US healthcare setting/ to the different US payer channels and relevant stakeholders. He/she will also play a key role in the planning and execution of publications and other public dissemination efforts of Insulet HEOR data, in collaboration with other stakeholders in the Insulet access community and medical affairs colleagues.

Success in this position will require the individual to be proficient in health economics (including the diverse economic modeling techniques), real-world evidence studies and data collection (i.e. claims analyses, EHR data, etc.) and supporting activities (e.g. literature reviews, indirect comparisons and meta-analyses), Health Technology Appraisal (HTA) processes and also have experience in (patient-reported) outcomes selection and analysis. Past or present HEOR-content producing experience in the field of diabetes or cardiovascular diseases is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) activities performed within the remit of the Global Value and Access Team at Insulet across the entire portfolio of Insulet solutions and indications/disease states.
  • Collaboratively lead the insights-driven development and update of a diverse suite of economic models for each of the current and future Insulet solutions/target indications, as part of a set of global access-supporting deliverables developed for each of these assets.
  • Drive the (early) health economic modeling in support of the development of strategic recommendations to maximize the payer value and global access potential of the new, innovative solutions (Insulin delivery and/or data solutions) currently in conceptualization and/or (early) development by Insulet across its different franchises.
  • Drive HEOR study and project execution in support of the demonstration of the payer value proposition of Insulet solutions in the US healthcare setting/to the different US payer channels and relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive and coordinate the adaption of the above-mentioned models and related materials in support of their use and dissemination to US payers and their stakeholders to communicate on the value of Insulet solutions in the US healthcare setting. As part of this, where and when warranted, support and participate to direct engagements with US payers or payer influencers.
  • Collaboratively select endpoints and instruments to be included in Insulet trials and Insulet-sponsored global/US effectiveness research projects and real-world evidence (RWE) partnerships.
  • Plan and drive HEOR publication planning, submission and acceptance of abstracts, posters and publications of Insulet HEOR data, in collaboration with other stakeholders in the Insulet access community and medical affairs colleagues.
  • Support the development of long-term HEOR strategy, evidence gap identification, HEOR-related value messaging, HEOR KOL relationship development & strategic planning across assets and disease states, including conceptualization of new project needs

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven analytical skills with scientific papers and market intelligence
  • Willingness to travel in the USA and abroad, as needed
  • Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation skills, PowerPoint and MS office expertise must be at a very high level.
  • Knowledge of modeling/statistical software is highly recommended
  • Writing Skills: memos, letters, data analyses, excellent grammar and spelling skills. Must have a sharp eye for language, critical review and be a skilled writer.
  • Vendor management expertise: proven ability to manage relationships with external vendors, including the ability to identity new vendors and offerings/capabilities that can add value to Insulet’s HEOR functions
  • Possess excellent project management skills and have a strong track record of delivering business-impacting results under time constraints.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s in life/health sciences or related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience in a Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) content-developing and producing role in the life science industry (pharma and/or medtech) or consultancy, ideally at global and/or regional level; hands-on modeling experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the cardinal HEOR-related deliverables that are required in the different phases in the life cycle of medical technologies while exhibiting creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in the delivery of HE-related activities
  • Good knowledge of HTA processes and requirements in key global markets (e.g UK)
  • Past or present HEOR-content producing experience in the field of diabetes or cardiovascular diseases is strongly preferred

Additional Information

  • The position will be US-based and can be remote, hybrid or in-person at our office in Acton, MA or San Diego, CA.
  • Travel is estimated at 10% but will flex depending on business need.

Additional Information:The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,700.00 – $181,450.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
