As Regional Market Access Director Pharma Mid-Europe Region, you will collaborate with countries, Global Market Access and the cross functional team to enable and empower fast and broad patient access to our company products across the General Pharmaceutical franchises in this region at a price reflective of their value, reporting into the MER Regional Market Access Lead Pharma and Vaccines. You will be accountable for the successful execution of the access strategy consistent with the global plan for access, the value & implementation goals, and market-level opportunities. You will also be an honest broker for the cross functional and market teams, and a source of insights to inform strategy and decision making.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute short- and long-term access strategies and plans, in coordination with country, global and cross functional teams
  • Work directly with the allocated countries and support them in addressing value, access and affordability priorities and challenges, provide necessary guidance to shape access and price negotiations
  • Leverage all available resources (e.g. clinical, regulatory, medical, marketing, OR, policy, global access and pricing) to support countries in implementation of tactical plans, identifying and overcoming access barriers
  • Work closely with global and therapeutic area pricing teams to address price management proactively including price optimization, improving profitability of key assets, etc. Support and guide country price requests (analyzing pricing levels, pricing research, interfaces with HQs, creation and implementation of tools to support price management
  • Liaise and collaborate with OR, GMSA and V&I teams to ensure appropriate data generation to close local and regional real world data/evidence gaps for optimized access. Ensure alignment of local data generation study proposals and strategy, consistent with country value demonstration requirements
  • Share best practice across countries and provide market input into our global product access plans. Ensure that we advance innovation in enabling affordability solutions for the region
  • Collect and nurture market information, run detailed analysis of access & pricing assumptions in financial forecast cycles (May & Nov), give input and inform senior management to plan for timely access whilst maintaining value
  • As a key member of the regional cross functional team (commercial, GMSA, Policy, OR), contribute to integrated strategy and product plans and mobilize resources to optimize the commercial results; this includes but is not limited to supporting evidence generation plans, collecting and consolidating local access priorities, overseeing primary and secondary research with payers, planning and guiding early engagement with external stakeholders etc.
  • Have an affinity to understand key drivers and barriers within the HTA processes as well as the ability to surface key issues related to for example cost effectiveness in order to inform HECON model adaptation and strategy
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the payer landscape, policy objectives, health priorities, and planned initiatives of governments throughout the region insofar as they may impact on access for our company’s products, together with Policy
  • As a motivated self starter with strong leadership capabilities, develop talent, build and maintain a strong network to shape decisions and an entrepreneurial culture

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role, you will embrace the Enterprise Leadership Skills and have strong technical skills as well as leadership and business capabilities:

  • BA/BS, master’s degree in business administration, health policy, or health economics (or equivalent) preferred
  • 5 years or more experience of market access, health economics, outcomes research, or pricing, in the pharmaceutical industry
  • In-country experience, including product launches
  • Proven track record of success in executing access strategies
  • Evidence of strategic and analytical thought, strong business and financial acumen
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and make resource trade-offs across the portfolio
  • Proven ability to establish influential relationships with key stakeholders and formulate payer collaborations
  • Lead with informal authority. Manages through ambiguity. Communicates clearly
  • Leadership skills and navigates successful in a matrixed environment
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
