Implements a global to local network providing RWE guidance and frameworks for Japanese affiliates, guiding translation of business questions into scientific sound approaches.
Designs and leads a network approach for colleagues working in the Evidence generation space and ensures maximum transparency and synergies.
Ensures a common understanding of RWE generation methods and strategies in Japan for various stakeholders, including patients, providers, regulators, and HTA bodies.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Implements a global-to-local Japanese network in order to drive excellence and maximize synergies and efficiencies in the generation of sound real-world evidence
• Provides (in close collaboration with RWE strategy leads) guidance to regions and countries and ensures transparency and alignment between global and local Japanese RWE strategies and activities

• Partners closely with relevant regional and local internal Japanese stakeholders (e.g., Access, Medical, Safety) to ensure alignment of RWE initiatives globally
• Ensures transparency, consistency, alignment and collaboration with relevant Japanese communities (e.g., Access Community) to enhance external stakeholders’ (e.g., payers) initiatives
• Ideates with the Asian countries/regions on RWE needs and most efficient and scientific sound approaches, drives consistent core protocol developments and implementations and supports best RWE vendor and KOL selections.
• Ensures implementation of the global RWE generation strategy framework for the value proposition of UCB inline and pipeline assets for payers and HTA bodies in close alignment with the RWE strategy leads
• Takes responsibility for leading RWE study design, planning and execution (including protocol development and analysis specification following best methodological standards) for EU Regional studies as needed
• Guides Local Medical/Access colleagues in developing study documents (study concepts, study protocols) for Local RWE studies
• Fosters the collaboration between the Center of Excellence of RWD Analytics and other functions to ensure best access to treatments for patients across Asian countries
• Engages with Japanese external stakeholders and global organizations in collaboration with the RWE external engagement lead
• Ensures close collaboration and connectivity to the RWE strategy leads and other RWE colleagues. providing transparency on Japanese perspectives in order to tailor global initiatives accordingly (e.g., processes, communication), identifying commonalities and discrepancies of RWE needs
• Shares best practices and lessons learned with relevant Japanese stakeholders
• Ensures appropriate training and nurtures competency development within the Japanese network
• Mentors and develops team members
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
Education Level: Master’s Degree/epidemiological, HEOR, statistical, medical degrees are favorable
Experience:
Preference will be given to:
Pharma experience with a proven successful track record of analysis of Real World Data (primary and secondary data) in partnership with Epidemiologists, Payers, HTA bodies, Outcomes Researchers
Hands-on experience in Health Economics-related projects and activities including economic modeling, HTA submissions and reviews in Pharma or Biotech industry, consultancy, University research centre or Health Technology Assessment body (e.g., NICE) would be preferred but no “must have”.
Demonstrable track record of performing high quality research (i.e., scientific publications; abstracts, posters, full papers in peer-reviewed clinical and/or economic journals).
Knowledge of key international health care systems (UK, France, Germany)
Ideally, prior experience in outcomes research, comparative safety and effectiveness, value proposition, and pricing.
Leadership, communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills as well as a desire and experience in developing transversal ways of working
Combination of strong methodological quantitative knowledge, strategic thinking and communication skills
Sound understanding of how to successfully apply comparative and health economic research principles and efficiently communicate the resulting evidence to support the development and commercialization of products
Strategic understanding of the health economic research designs that produce relevant payer value information in both a development and post-launch period.
Interest and experience in developing and training people on comparative safety and effectiveness, health economic related RWE generation

• Deep understanding of the Japanese regulatory and payer environment incl most recent changes in regulations, guidelines and trends
