Senior HTA Consultant

Bicester / London, UK.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Consultant to join our friendly Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Team at Mtech Access. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic and rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate would have a high work ethic, and be team-oriented and hands-on in a varied role.

This is a permanent position based in our office in Bicester, London, Manchester, or Cambridge. Working alongside the HTA Director, this role will involve a wide variety of duties as follows:

As a Senior Consultant within the HTA team, you will be required to work autonomously and deliver compelling materials consistently to a high standard, across a varied range of therapeutic areas and a breadth of deliverables, including but not limited to:

  • HTA Submissions
    • NICE STA
    • NICE MTA
    • NICE HST
    • NICE MTEP
    • SMC Submission
    • SMC ultra-orphan submission
    • AWMSG submission
    • NCPE submission
  • Global value dossiers/global reimbursement dossiers/objection handlers (as and when business need arises)
  • Publications (as and when business need arises)
  • Adhering to internal and client quality control measures and take personal responsibility for the quality of your work
  • Effectively managing the input of support/junior project team contributors
  • Advising on the strategic direction/shaping of speciality deliverables to ensure these are ‘fit for purpose’ and meet client objectives
  • As a member of a project team, leading on appropriate aspects of the project, including the intellectual design, timeline development, and the ongoing organisation and execution of projects, including timely communication with colleagues and clients, leading client meetings, note taking, and execution of relevant actions
  • Formal project management of appropriate projects within HTA (and other deliverables as business needs arise)
  • Within HTA, leading discussions with colleagues and clients, demonstrating authority and confidence in your speciality knowledge and wider understanding of the market access environment and healthcare systems of relevance to your speciality, to advise and support
  • Fostering and maintaining existing client relationships
  • Leading business development activities within HTA, such as:
    • Horizon scanning activities
    • Introductory calls with clients
    • Researching and writing proposals
    • Leading and presenting at credentials opportunities or pitches
  • Contributing to technical and consulting mentorship, including dissemination of skills and knowledge, on- and off-project, and formal training
  • Contributing to functional team responsibilities
  • Line management is expected if opportunities exist

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree level educated or equivalent qualifications
  • Up to date knowledge of HTA processes, including all NICE and SMC programs
  • Experience leading HTA submissions from inception to completion
  • Business development experience, including writing proposals and leading pitches for HTA projects
  • High level of integrity with a strong understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Capable of working in a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, positive attitude with an ability to find effective solutions to issues
  • A commitment to ongoing self-development and learning
  • A high work ethic with a can-do attitude towards management of priorities

Desirable

  • Previous experience in non-UK HTA submissions (e.g. CADTH, PBAC, TLV, HAS, AMCP, etc)
  • Experience facilitating advisory boards and mock committee meetings
  • Previous experience of working in rare diseases
