Think they&#8217;ll keep the job ad running for weeks to find the perfect candidate? Not quite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hiring managers are pushing them.<\/strong> HR is under pressure from managers who want the vacancy filled as soon as possible. Their job is to deliver strong candidates fast, not to maximise the number of applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Open vacancies cost money and create workload.<\/strong> Delayed projects, extra admin, screening, scheduling, chasing. Health economics teams can&#8217;t afford gaps. HR wants to close it and move on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Strong candidates are scarce.<\/strong> HR knows that top candidates are interviewing elsewhere. Delay means losing them to a competitor. When they see a strong profile, they move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>They want to avoid recruitment agencies.<\/strong> External recruiters are expensive. The longer a role stays open, the more likely it gets handed to an agency. HR wants to fill it before that happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once HR has a couple of strong profiles, they often present to the hiring manager and the role closes. If you apply late, you may never be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you see a role that fits your background and career direction, don&#8217;t wait. Apply during your lunch break or that evening.
