Our Senior Scientist is an essential contributor to our Modeling & Meta-Analysis team, working across a range of projects with ownership of specific projects, deliverables, and timelines. They enjoy leading and coaching people, managing projects, expanding their client network to bring in new business, and thriving in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, international organization. Furthermore, they are proactive, responsive, and able to balance shifting priorities to ensure promises are kept and expectations are exceeded. They have an affinity with and proven experience in health economic modeling for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions and evidence synthesis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leading multiple projects (Modeling, Meta-analysis and Data analysis) and making sure these projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Reviewing deliverables including study concept/plan documents, models, related analyses, and technical reports
  • Designing and constructing economic models and programming (budget impact, Markov, partition-survival, discrete event simulations)
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts within MMA and other centers of excellence to provide integrated service offerings
  • Conducting traditional and Bayesian meta-analysis methodologies
  • Responding to RFPs, leading proposal development, and pursuing other business development opportunities
  • Line managing, mentoring, and coaching junior colleagues

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in economic modeling and/or meta-analysis with a consulting company preferred or pharmaceutical company or equivalent doctoral experience
  • Master’s Degree or PhD in relevant Science, Pharmacoeconomics, Engineering, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Public Health or Medical Field is required
  • Design and implementation of cost-effectiveness, budget impact analyses, network meta-analysis, indirect treatment comparison, microsimulation, discrete choice simulation, or other advanced mathematical modeling
  • Experience with programming languages (VBA, R, C++, Java, WinBUGS)
  • Prior experience in working with writing proposals, responding to RFPs and managing project teams
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills that include the ability to prepare and present relevant summaries of complex materials
  • Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to forge and effectively manage relationships within the company and with external stakeholders
  • Superior communication skills and the ability to question the status quo
  • Proactive, responsive, and able to balance shifting priorities and ensuring that promises are kept and expectations are exceeded
  • Foreign language proficiency is a plus
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
