Your role at Baxter:

  • The Market Access Manager will orchestrate the coverage, access, and reimbursement strategy for innovative products within the Respiratory Health Business Unit of Baxter.
  • This is where you play a significant role in expanding access to patients.
  • The desired candidate will build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, analyze, and interpret payer policies and collaborate across internal teams to ensure patient access and maximize the market impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive market access strategy to secure coverage and payment for newly launched products within Respiratory Health
  • Lead the development and inclusion of new HCPCS codes with private, commercial and Manage Medicaid payers.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including payers, providers, and coding agencies. The Market Access Manager will influence key decision makers within commercial and managed Medicaid organizations, internal partners, and external stakeholders. Their work will directly impact patient access to innovative technologies and contribute to the company’s overall revenue goals.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of payer policies and coverage decisions.
  • Develop and deliver compelling value propositions that demonstrate the clinical and economic benefits of products/therapies within Respiratory Health
  • Monitor and track coding and reimbursement progress, identifying and addressing any roadblocks/challenges/opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., regulatory, clinical, and sales/marketing) to ensure a cohesive market access approach.
  • Stay abreast of relevant industry trends and regulatory updates impacting coding and reimbursement.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. A focus on Health Care, Health Economics or Business preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years required Healthcare Reimbursement / Medical Device related experience with demonstrable evidence of successfully partnering with customers and achieving shared goals and outcomes.
  • Experience working with KOLs, developing and maintaining commercial payer contacts, as well as government and private payers
  • Possess extensive knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, reimbursements and programs, Federal Marketplace (VA/DoD), Regional Health Plans and National Health Plans)
  • Experience in developing reimbursement (coding, coverage, and payment) for new technologies, and across commercial and government payers,
  • In-depth understanding of the US healthcare reimbursement system and coding process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 – $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
