Best Health Economists colleagues,
Thank you for using EuropeanHealthEconomics.com.
It is time to close for Christmas and also to look back on 2022.
It was a busy year in the health economics job market. We posted a record of 1,746 health economics jobs in 2022. That is 145 new roles each month. A big thank you goes to Aprille, who has kept the job board running.
For us as health economists, the good news is that the size of the health economic job market has kept growing and there is a shortage of experienced health economists. Despite the approaching economic crisis, the number of new health economic jobs has so far remained unchanged.
However, we are getting some signals that things are slowing down. I would speculate that next year we’ll see fewer health economist jobs, the freelancer market is likely to get tighter and companies probably start to do more projects and recruiting in-house. Well, this is to be seen next year.
Together, you all visited the job board 33,800 times and viewed the job ads 107,000 times in 2022. The weekly Terveystaloustiedeen Työpaikat -uutiskirje has now over 1,400 subscribers. I’m sure that many of you found your new role and your new team members via us.
We appreciate all this. Thank you for using the job board!
Happy Holidays and all the best for 2023,
Jari
