HEOR Manager

Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Reporting to the Regional Head Latin America – CSL Vifor , as the Health Economics & Outcome Research Manager Brazil (HEOR), you will serve as the interface between the company and local Government authorities to establish a favorable business environment in driving the company’s Market Access footprint and maximize patient access in Brazil. You will support the Commercial objectives of Brazil through the development and execution of CSL Vifor’s Patient Access commercial strategies and projects encompassing all business franchises. You will develop a strong network with local health authorities and professional associations and other influencers , and partner with the relevant stakeholders in managing relations and support execution thru HEOR initiatives across a broad spectrum of therapy areas. You will influence global and regional Market Access strategies to achieve positive business outcomes Develop/implement national reimbursement plan. You will oversee development/implementation of health economics/HTA program and develop health economic models and tools to support cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses. You will provide input around the health technology assessment landscape to support product launches in Brazil, and collaborate with teams at the regional level to provide input and guidance on modelling needs. You will manage external vendors as appropriate during health economic projects. You will support global strategies by providing key insights into trends and changes in the local market Identifies business opportunities in the local market and communicates to colleagues, and you will design and execute economic analyses and models in accordance with industry standards. Also, you will perform simulations to identify key factors and drivers that are significant for Market Access.

The Role:

  • Robust, aligned, and innovative value-added offers across key therapy areas.
  • Effective involvement of relevant stakeholders through communication, trainings, education provided to relevant stakeholders in upholding the strategy and policy positions.
  • Demonstrated support on internal stakeholders towards achieving the market access strategy in line with public policies.
  • On-time delivery of accelerated market access and optimal reimbursement outcomes.
  • Develop all the structures related to Pharmacoeconomics and Value Dossier and related tools in support to business objectives in Brazil.
  • Liaise with Market Access areas in ICO PB & Global as requested by the business.
  • Develop strategies and tactics for fostering a positive access decision and reimbursement of highest possible price that is described, in part, in a reimbursement dossier for a particular product.
  • Create and adapt Value Dossiers of required CSL Vifor brands to the Brazilian Market and develop local tools to support strategy and implementation of Market Access strategies.

Strategy and Policy Positions

  • Develop sound strategy and policy positions to provide the basis in handling HEOR related matters.
  • Effectively monitor and map societal, policy developments and stakeholder positions and identify opportunities and threats for CSL Vifor today and in the future, at the local level.
  • Provide relevant trainings to internal stakeholders on HEOR topics.
  • Integrate HEOR into business plans as a tool for commercial (Sales, Marketing and Patient Access) teams and collaborate with them to develop health economics and cost effectiveness arguments.
  • Collaborate with other teams as appropriate to develop specific health economic models and tools to support cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses.
  • Oversee preparation of health economic submissions and strategic health economic assessments to support submissions for new product entry and established products.
  • Provide health economics expertise to shape the understanding within the business on relevant environmental Market Access challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for health outcomes / real world evidence development for key products, align with the global HEOR team for the development of the data and oversee data generation / localization (as appropriate) including messaging per stakeholder group in alignment with medical.
  • Conduct all activities in compliance with industry and Company ethical guidelines and policies.

Communication and Relationship Management

  • Monitor, assimilate, assess and internally communicate changes in the national health policy environment related to Market Access/HEOR.
  • Support the collection of voice of the customer (health economic, clinical differentiation, etc.), needs, and opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate health economic plans and economic study results undertaken by CSL Vifor and by other organizations to internal and external audiences.
  • An active and integral member of the business team and collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to align on business strategy.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to provide response to government queries.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor the local healthcare environment to have an overall perspective, identifying areas where HEOR can contribute.
  • Participate in industry committees that focus on local legislative or policy initiatives related to HEOR.
  • Gather and provide insights and market intelligence related to HEOR to the relevant internal stakeholders.

Advice and Expertise

  • Conduct statistical analyses, sampling, and other methods to measure and evaluate clinical and epidemiological variables.
  • Work with regional Market Access team to take the pulse of external environment and advise on value added opportunities with suggested action plans.
  • Leverage CSL Vifor’s value proposition and promote positive business outcomes at local level.
  • Propose actions and plans in response to policy initiatives.

Trade Association Management

  • Participate and represent the company in associations and working groups and provide updates on key events and policy discussions.
  • Build and maintain an expert network in pricing and reimbursement.

Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a business, or life science related discipline, additional education on Political Science, Health Economics, Public Policy/Administration preferred.
  • Master Degree in MPA, MBA, MPH preferred.
  • Language requirement: High level English skills.
  • Postgraduate degree in the area of Health Economics or equivalent.
  • Experience in performing or guiding economic studies, including literature reviews.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry in the areas of Health Economic and Market/Patient Access experience.
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare dynamics.
  • Deep understanding of government policies and programs.
  • Good commercial background, health economics knowledge and experience to align market access strategies with government policies and programs.
  • Experience in strategy execution at the country level.
  • Experience in business planning and / or market analysis and production of Value Propositions based on Patient Access principles and knowledge and experience with HEOR modelling and analysis preferred.
  • Experience in performing or guiding economic studies, including literature reviews preferred.
