Under the direction of the HEMA Franchise Director, the Senior HEMA Specialist will support the execution of strategies that integrate health economic and market access solutions to ensure market access and competitive advantage of Acclarent, Mentor and Cerenovus products in a value-based healthcare market.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

With supervision by the HEMA Franchise Director and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Supports the execution of evidence generation, value and reimbursement strategies that enable market access for Acclarent, Mentor and Cerenovus technologies and their commercial success;
  • Works closely with global HEMA partners and multiple cross-functional partners, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, US Commercial Marketing, Professional Education, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal to:
  • Develops value tools including publication blue prints, value dossiers, value briefs and economic models and effectively disseminates them to the US commercial team, other business partners, and through appropriate social medial channels;
  • Gathers critical voice of customer (VOC) from internal/external stakeholders to shape value messages and tools and collaborates closely with global partners to support adaptation/leveraging of tools for the US and other regions;
  • Performs literature searches and analyses and summarizes data;
  • Contributes to outcomes research projects
  • Supports the Franchise HEMA team with reimbursement support activities for the US;
  • Supports the EOS copy review process including submittals for review and the reference annotation process;
  • Provides training to US Commercial and other business partners on health economic and value tools;
  • Coordinates approval of master services agreements, work proposals, purchase orders and other contracts with third-party consultants/vendors, and;
  • Stays abreast of key US reimbursement and market access trends and the impact for Acclarent, Mentor and Cerenovus technologies.

Functional and Technical Competencies:

Preferred candidate will have a background in evidence-based medicine, health economics, reimbursement or health policy and a track record of success.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required with an advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, MHA, MBA) in health economics, outcomes research or healthcare related field preferred.  Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical device, pharma or consulting business; with a public or commercial payer; or in academia.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications/Licenses and Affiliations.

  • A track record of success working in evidence-based medicine, market development, health economics, reimbursement or health policy role.
  • A collaborative attitude and ability to engage with multi-functional and global teams to provide input and influence decisions.
  • Good analytical skills. Knowledge of data collection and review practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; detail-oriented, self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Big picture thinker with the ability to understand the implications of reimbursement and market access trends that will impact commercial success.
  • Ability to take evidence and other complex data and package it into easy to understand deliverables that can support commercial use.
  • Solution-oriented, with the ability to offer creative options for problem solving.
  • Computer literacy required in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Physical Working Conditions / Requirements

  • No special or unique physical abilities required.
  • 10-15% Travel is required.
