The Position

Establishing the strategies for Market Access, Value Communications and HE (Health Economics) and realizing the strategies for the affiliate in line with local and global business priorities. As part of the affiliate organisation, provide leadership in the development and implementation of the strategic affiliate market access plans and in the development of supportive Health Economics value documentation and aiding tools for use in their Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) and Formulary works (national payer levels).

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Managerial Liabilities

Develop and advocate Market Access strategic plans for the function that aligns functional objectives with regional strategy and ambition with plan for and manage the resources and skills within the function to meet short- mid- and long-term needs including training needs, competency gap, succession planning and other. Constantly communicate the shared vision and business priorities for the Market Access functional area and actively manage the functional team by delegating liabilities, managing performance, recognising and rewarding achievements and identifying ways to improve. Be an ambassador for Business Ethics within affiliate and ensure full compliance with all Business Ethics SOPs.

  • MA (Market Access)

Develop and monitor intelligence on the market access landscape in the affiliate with respect to NN and competition access, healthcare system changes, HTA (Health technology Assessment) developments and general trends in the field and execute Affiliate MA Plans based on local needs and strategy aligned with Affiliate and Global (APAC, IO, Global) ambition. Develop optimal value dossiers based on very professional insights on HE/OR field in line with global and IO pricing strategies on a timely manner. Implement and execute strategic Market Access frameworks such as payer engagement, negotiation, and objection handler in close collaboration with Affiliate Management Team and cross functional stakeholders.

  • Value Communication/HE

Communicate local HE evidences and Value Communication to create tailored local value messages that resonate with local patients, payers, health care providers and other decision-makers AND develop local HE Communication Tools to ensure Novo Nordisk drug’s value proposition will be recognized and hence local market uptake will be maximized. Identify and communicate to IO/BA the HE evidences, and publication needs that will leverage local business opportunities and drive stakeholder engagement strategies needs for market access. Develop local submission value dossier ensuring coherent story line that will resonate with local payers in collaboration with IO/Regional/ local Management Team. Monitor HTA/payer developments and actively provide input to IO/BA and relevant stakeholders across the organization.

  • Pricing and Contracting

Submit complete pricing cases that are in line with global and IO pricing strategies and pricing SOP on a timely manner. Reflect clear understanding of business impact and general Market Access implications by collaborating closely with key functions (CMR – Clinical, Medical, Regulatory), Marketing, Sales) to create solid business/pricing cases. Monitor local pricing developments and ensure pricing SOP compliance and communicate pricing insights and analyses to Affiliate and BA Managements ensuring broader business implications are reflected. Provide pricing input in key processes such as AB, RE2 and other.

Participate and represent NN in BA/local pricing platforms with plans/tactics in collaboration with field based market access team and align negotiation tactics with internal pricing policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master degree (prefer in pharmaceutical industry academic area).
  • Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical market access environmental factors to foster pricing & reimbursement strategies, public and government affairs.
  • At least, 10 years progressive experience in Market access, pricing and reimbursement, public and government affairs in the pharmaceutical industry with well understanding of global pricing strategies and communications with Global MA to secure optimised MA strategies.
  • Ability of risk management in challengeable market access environment with outstanding communication and negotiation skills, performance based thinking based on creative, innovative and scientific market access.
  • Fluency in both written & spoken English.
