Associate Manager – Market Access

Janssen, the pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for an Associate Manager-Market Access based out of Mumbai.

The Associate Manager- Market Access will be part of the Market Access Team of Janssen India and will be responsible for leading & managing all Patient Access solutions & services for Janssen India across therapies through project and vendor management. In addition, the individual will also be responsible for development, approval and implementation of pricing strategies & tactics for existing & pipeline assets with the intent to maximize value of J&J products and create business impact

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Access Solutions

  • Identify and develop strategies to drive access to J&J therapies through patient support & assistance programs
  • Leading all strategic and operational activities as the J&J SPOC for both internal and external stakeholders on a day-to-day basis.
  • Management of external partners and vendors, including service agreement, vendor onboarding, transition etc.
  • Ensure positive evolution of J&Js patient centered programs to ensure patient needs are addressed
  • Drive & own SOPs surrounding the development and implementation of patient solutions & services
  • Ensuring the programs & services meet & address all internal audit, compliance, legal, quality & regulatory requirements
  • Create and drive patient solutions & services related KPIs and tracking for creating meaningful and data based decision making
  • Evaluate & bring forward future opportunities in the space of patient access solutions by looking at leveraging digitalization and industry trends


  • Drive pricing as a key strategic pillar within the Market Access framework for maximizing the value of J&Js products/assets
  • Identification of underlying business need and access challenge to cross-functionally lead and develop pricing & patient assistance proposals & cases which support asset maximization from a local country perspective
  • Ensuring all internal pricing requirements & governance are completed and are in order
  • Evaluate & keep track of competitor pricing strategies/trends and future evolution within the innovator/patented pharma space
  • Have good understanding of both broad access landscape as well as specific brand/Therapy area challenges to ensure value opportunities are identified and maximized for both existing and pipeline portfolio
  • Cross-functional management
  • Complete management of J&Js external third party vendor relationships across all levels
  • Extensively collaboration with internal cross-functional teams especially Finance, Brand teams, Franchise Sales, Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory to ensure uniformity in thinking and strategy
  • Enhancing the equity and reputation of J&J through the interaction with all direct & indirect external stakeholders involved in the patient access solutions journey.



Minimum Post-graduate degree required.

Experience and Skills:

  • 4-8 years’ experience of working in consulting firm or Pharma Company and preferably 2 years in a Patient support program management role
  • Good understanding of the Indian Healthcare system, health policy, market dynamics as well as fundamental understanding of the Indian Pharma Market.
  • Understanding of pharma compliances/legal/regulatory framework regarding interaction with patients preferred
  • Strong project management and ability to drive operational tasks
  • Previous experience of working with/handling vendor teams/patient support teams preferred
  • Strong communication skills to lead internal cross-functional teams and partner with diverse external stakeholders across projects
  • Ability to think objectively, understand diverse point of views, solve problems and make decisions


  • Proficient in English Language. Good Project tracking, PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • 10% Travel requirement
