Senior Manager Market Access & HEOR

Uxbridge, UK.

Hours: Full time, hybrid head office and home-based.

Purpose:To support optimal market access for Daiichi-Sankyo’s product portfolio in the UK under the guidance of the National Market Access & HEOR Director.

Accountabilities / Measures:

1.    Defines and implements the national PMA strategy to maximize market access and brand performance

•    Continuously analyses and monitors the current and future PMA landscape and derives strategic insights for developing Daiichi-Sankyo’s market access strategy
•    Identifies and segments key national PMA stakeholders and develops insights into their needs and agendas
•    Identifies national-level drivers & barriers to usage of Daiichi-Sankyo products
•    Under the guidance of the Market Access & HEOR Director develops market access plan that addresses the needs of national level PMA stakeholders
•    Effectively engages in market access scenario planning for new products in close collaboration with Market Access & HEOR Director
•    Collaborates closely with Market Access & HEOR Director to adapt global value story and value message to the national market in line with product strategy and local market needs
•    Supports the Market Access & HEOR Director in developing pricing strategies to ensure target national reimbursement and market access is achieved
•    Proactively provides input to the Market Access & HEOR Director to ensure specific national access requirements are considered in the HQ PMA strategy
•    Manages projects and overarching topics that have been defined and prioritized by the Market Access & HEOR Director

2.    Assumes responsibility for building and maintaining relationships with national payers and policy makers to ensure favourable market access conditions for Daiichi-Sankyo products

•    Identifies and establishes close relationships with key stakeholders on a national level to create and maintain market access channels
•    Effectively engages with national stakeholders to remove barriers to funding and to ensure PMA strategy is adapted to stakeholder needs
•    Creates trust and shapes a favourable healthcare environment to secure Daiichi- Sankyo’s reputation

3.    Engages with national reimbursement and policy maker authorities to ensure Daiichi-Sankyo products achieve favourable reimbursement in line with the set price strategy

•    Effectively engages with HTA bodies (NICE, SMC, AWMSG) and NHS stakeholders in the UK and develops high quality dossiers to support a price and reimbursement that is in line with the overall Daiichi-Sankyo strategy
•    Conducts post-negotiation win/loss reviews with the rest of the Market Access team

4.    Coordinates and supports the preparation of national HTA dossiers for pipeline products

•    Leads on the development of high quality UK HTA submissions (NICE, SMC, AWMSG) including development/adaptation of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for Daiichi-Sankyo’s pipeline products
•    Effectively manages 3rd party vendors and consultants involved in developing the HTA submissions
•    Anticipates risks for market access and reimbursement by analysing existing and upcoming evaluation processes and develops different market access scenarios
•    Supports the preparation of HTA dossiers by providing an expert knowledge on the national PMA landscape and legislation, as well as insights to the specific payer requirements
•    Effectively supports and provides guidance for the generation of pharmaco-economic data that need to be included in the HTA dossier
•    Regularly reviews progress made on the HTA dossier preparation to ensure all actions and work-streams are completed as agreed

5.    Provides guidance for the generation of pharmaco-economic and RWE data required to ensure favourable market access

•    Effectively identifies specific pharmaco-economic requirements of national and regional-level stakeholders in close collaboration with the National Market Access & HEOR Director and Regional Market Access Manager, respectively
•    Provides guidance for the development and customization of HEOR data, cost effectiveness/budget impact models and the creation of RWE

6.    Guides and supports the Regional Market Access Manager

•    Provides guidance to Regional Market Access Manager to develop customized solutions and messages that reflect the needs of the regional and local market access stakeholders
•    Continuously monitors implementation of the regional market access strategy and plan and oversees achievement of set objectives

7.    Continuously supports internal stakeholders on market-access and reimbursement related topics

•    Proactively monitors and communicates key trends critical to market access to all relevant internal stakeholders as basis for discussion and potential action-planning
•    Supports Market Access & HEOR Director throughout training/coaching sessions and dissemination market access expertise across the organization
•    Develops internal training toolkits/negotiation guides for the team under the guidance of the Market Access & HEOR Director

Technical/Professional Knowledge:

Essential  

•    Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics or related discipline
•    Significant demonstrable experience within a pharmaceutical company or consultancy in an UK HEOR/HTA/Market Access role.
•    Track record of HTA submissions leading to successful patient access with at least 1 recent submission in oncology. Experience in oncology therapeutic area is a must
•    Experience with Patient Access Scheme (PAS) and/or Commercial Access Agreements
•    In-depth HEOR technical expertise and experience
•    Strong numerical skills with experience of leading on health economics modelling
•    In-depth and up-to-date understanding of HTA methodology and processes in the UK (NICE, SMC, AWMSG)
•    Existing relationships with key reimbursement stakeholders in the UK
•    Proven ability to successfully work within a matrix environment
•    Good project management skills
•    Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills
•    Strategic mind-set and hands-on
•    Collaborative, committed and courageous
•    Positive can-do attitude.
•    Able to identify with Daiichi-Sankyo company values

Desirable 

•    PHD qualification in Health Economics or related discipline
•    Experience operating at a Senior Manager level in a UK role
•    Track record of HEOR publications
•    Experience of external positions held on MA Policy Industry groups, e.g. ABPI
